The Luke Cuerel Orchestra

The Luke Cuerel Orchestra
The Luke Cuerel Orchestra is a 13 piece ensemble based in Brisbane, Australia featuring some of Brisbane’s most diverse new musicians. Fusing diverse approaches and instrumentation including string quartet, woodwinds, brass, harp, keyboard, drums and electronics, the Luke Cuerel Orchestra aims to combine highly composed music with large group improvisation.

Voltfruit is a Brisbane-based experimental music duo consisting of Flora Wong (strings/electronics) and Luke Cuerel (winds/synths/electronics). They draw on their collective experience and training in classical, jazz and contemporary music, combining improvisatory and compositional techniques, and explore the interaction between acoustic and electronic sounds.

Polymer is a project formed from electronic producers and musicians Luke Tkalcevic and Luke Cuerel. Drawing influence from their current and previous musical endeavours, (Sondrio, Pigeon, The Luke Cuerel Orchestra), the two Lukes look at combining their different influences and experiences into melancholic and melodic electronica in their latest project.

The Cook up

“The Cook Up” was a year long project where I investigated music making with Brisbane musicians. Over the course of 2018, I played in groups with some of my best mates in ways I never had before.
